This would make a good "teaser poster"... and thank god you made the Title different colors. For a split second I read it as "Tom Braider" since the letters are so closely spaced. haha
I really like the entries that focus on the 'reborn' rather than bow and arrow. Mind you, there are a lot of those made of pure awesome... but for me this here would be a top contender. As for your painting: really great lighting and conveys the emergence from an old life left behind to something new and strong. Well done.
Going with the 'bow and arrow' or the 'wounded animal' look did seem to be the obvious choice. I had considered it but I thought this simpler message was the best use of my, relatively speaking, limited artistic skillset.
I'm a better photo-manipulator than a pure original artist but i figured i'd play around in Photoshop and Illustrator and see what emerged, so to speak.
I dont hold out your same conclusion for it being a top contender (thanks for that by the way) but i'm pretty pleased with it none-the-less and I suppose, that's the best thing at the end of the day, right?
Well... (and thanks for the long reply!) ...of course if you're pleased with yourself its all good But, having also read the rules despite of having no artistic skills at all, regrettably, this one here matches the description of what they're looking for a lot better than many perfectly executed others. It has that movie-poster/book-cover/t-shirt-print feel to it. And it depicts a vulnerable heroine emerging from the deep to live and fight another day. Like it or not: still top contender :b

You can really feel the ocean yawning all around her!
...
Is that the right word?
"Yawning"?
...Ah well.
Good job. ^^
